Australian Motorcycle Market is stable. After the first four months of 2024, sales are reported at 30.223 (+4.3%) a shy increase sustained by the growth of the scooter segment (+31%) Honda is on top, followed by Yamaha and KTM.

Australian two-wheeler market (not including powersport) is mature and generally stable. It was steady between the 70 and the 80 thousand units.

In 2020 the covid emergency created an acceleration to the demand for 2-wheeler and the market grew up for 24 months, up to 103.793 sales in 2021. However, coming back at normality, sales started to decline.

In 2023 total sales have been 93.631 (+1.1%). The trend unchanged as the new year started and after the first four months of 2024, sales are reported at 30.223 (+4.3%) a shy increase sustained by the growth of the scooter segment (+31%), still very small and counting around 20% of the total, but growing in the metropolitan areas together with the adoption of electric models (+75%) provided by several local start ups.

Looking at the single manufacturer, the leader is – since ever – Honda, although in 2024 is losing 1.9%.

In second place, Yamaha with sales up 5.4% is ahead of KTM (+4.4%), Kawasaki (-18.2%), Suzuki (-18.2%) and Harley-Davidson (-0.8%).

The local manufacturer VMoto Soco is fastly growing up (+87%).
