German Motorcycles Market is recovering. The start of 2026 is more encouraging and sales figures reported for the first five months were 101.778 (including EVs and 50cc vehicles), a 23.5% increase.

Two-wheeler market in Germany is in a medium term negative funnel, with sales declining both in scooter and motorcycles segment. In 2025 the sales collapsed losing a huge 27.8%, falling below the pre-covid level
Indeed, a weak economy and low consumption rates, with high inflation are not supporting demand for new motorcycles. And considering that the expected push up created by electric vehicles is vanishing after an early start, the market was having difficulties to grow up.
However, in 2025 the demand vanished and all manufacturers reported heavy loses with a market landed at 183.386 units (-27.8%) in the deepest lost reported in this century.

A positive trend is reported in the electric segment as well, with sales volume improved by 49.2%.
Performance of Leading Manufacturers
Looking at top manufacturer’s performance, the chinese manufacturers are gaining space in any segment.
Meanwhile, on top of the list Honda and BMW are duelling for the leadership. The Jap is actually ahead, with a narrow margin and sales down 13.8%, while BMW is gaining 8.3%,
In third place Piaggio is recovering in double-digit (+23.5%) keeping at the end a negative momentum in Europe.
In 4th place Kawasaki (+24.3%) has overtaken Yamaha (+16.8%).
Behind, KTM (+156%) started a fast recovering and is followed by Aprilia (+39.6%), Triumph (-1.1%), CF Moto (+1430%) and Peugeot (+14.7%).
