Global Top Motorcycles Manufacturers Ranking

The Global Best-Selling Motorcycle Manufacturers Ranking is a proprietary dataset produced by MotorCyclesData, the only organization tracking new two-wheeler registrations across 98 markets worldwide, representing approximately 98.5% of the global industry.

Data updated with Year to Date April 2026 figures are almost clear about the industry trend and power, with  the Top 25 OEM ranking reflects the rapid shift in the industry’s geography, including

  • 11 Chinese manufacturers

  • 5 Indian

  • 4 Japanese
  • 2 Mexican

  • 2 Taiwanese

  • 1 Italian

  • 1 Vietnamese

Honda firmly retained the global leadership, and after having reached in 2025 the new all-time record with over 20 million sales it is now growing a further 13.2% with 7.35 million sales.

In second place, Hero MotoCorp sold 2.0 million units (+17.6%) YTD April well expanding its lead over Yamaha, third with 1.7 million (+4.6%).

Behind the traditional leaders, two fast-growing challengers are closing the gap:

  • TVS Motor in fourth place with 1.57 million sales (+18.9%)

  • Yadea, the Chinese EV specialist, in fifth with 1.36 million (+4.9%)

Further down the ranking:

  • Bajaj Auto ranks 6th with sales up 15.0%

  • Suzuki is 7th with sales up 7.4%
  • Royal Enfield climbs to 8th place with sales up 19.7% supporting their strategy to expand sales at 2.5 million in the next 5 years.
  • Niu Technologies ranks 9th with sales up a roaring 35.4%.

  • Italika completes the Top 10 with sales up 5.9%.

Fastest Growing Manufacturers

Among the most dynamic companies, VinFast stands out. The Vietnamese EV manufacturer jumped from 53rd in 2024 to 13th place YTD April with sales up 204.7% year on year, reflecting the rapid growth of its domestic market and aggressive expansion strategy.

Other notable risers include:

  • Ather Energy, climbing from 40th in 2024 to 21st

  • KTM, is finally recovering and now is 27th, up 53.1% and leader in the premium segment.

Premium Brands Losing Ground

In contrast, premium motorcycle manufacturers remain marginal in the global volume ranking and in several cases lost positions in 2026.

  • KTM is the new segment leader with sales up 53.1%, even thanks to the former leader, BMW, steady performance.
  • Harley-Davidson is recovering 18.9% and ranks 37th, gaining four positions

  • Triumph fell three places to 41st with sales u a mere 1.9%

These figures highlight a structural reality of the global motorcycle industry: volume growth is increasingly driven by emerging markets and entry-level segments, where Asian manufacturers dominate.
