Luyuan global e-scooter sales are flat in 2025. However, the company, has dramatically changed the strategy with is now based on High tech, dual brands, partnership and internationalization aiming to restart the growth.

McD tracks new vehicles registrations across the World (over 97+ countries), reporting data on calendar year. When you wish to compare data reported by us to those declared by the manufacturers, consider they usually report their “sales” (vehicles invoiced), which are usually different from “registrations”, accordingly with their fiscal year split.

Founded in the 1997, in the last decade Luyuan become one of the top selling electric 2-wheeleer company in China and so, in the world. However, when after the 2021 the domestic market evolved with government stimulus for more technologic and advanced product, Luyuan sales stagnated, with 2024 reported with a deep 15% lost.

The management has rapidly defined a new strategy, announced during the 2025, evolving towards four directions:

  1. More advanced technology applied at electric scooter
  2. Focus on Brand building
  3. Develop of new partnerships
  4. Internationalization

In the technology field, Luyuan has developed a liquid-cooled motor with aviation-grade insulation that achieves a cooling reduction of 38°C, significantly extending motor lifespans.

Focusing on brand, they have created a new “young and easy” brand, called LYVA and have defined two position:

LUYUAN: Positioned as an everyday mobility partner, LUYUAN features advanced technologies such as a liquid-cooled power system, a battery digital care system, and an intelligent connectivity system. The S95, a key model, exemplifies these innovations.
LYVA: Focused on high-end intelligent series, LYVA integrates cutting-edge technologies like liquid-cooled mid-drive motors and AI-driven controls.

In the partnership area, in November they announced a strategic partnership with BMW Group, which will grant licenses for two micro mobility concepts to its partner, the “Dynamic Cargo” and “Clever Commute,” developed by the BMW Group to address challenges in urban mobility.

The “Dynamic Cargo” is a “pick-up” style electric three-wheeled cargo bike that retains the agility of a conventional bicycle while offering innovative, safe transport options, enhanced by an optional modular weather protection system.

The “Clever Commute” is the perfect “last mile” e-kick scooter, designed to fold easily for carrying on public transport or in a car without compromising riding stability.

Finally, Luyuan announced to have created a network granting the distribution in 80 countries. On this, we have to wait for real facts, considering that in 2025 sales were 99.8% concentrated in China, reaching a flat performance from the previous year, with 0.4 million sales.
