Brazilian Motorcycles Market is skyrocketing in 2025. During the third quarter the positive mood was still alive with sales up 14.0% and Year to Date September sales have been 1.54 million (+11.6%). Shineray is fast growing in third place.

Economic Outlook

The Brazilian economy continued to outperform expectations in 2025: Real gross domestic product grew by 3.4% for the year, largely thanks to very strong domestic demand. Consumer spending and capital formation accelerated throughout much of the year, which more than made up for the slowdown in government spending and exports.

Despite the strong performance last year, the economy is now facing serious headwinds that are likely to create a substantial drag on GDP. Weak government finances are contributing to stronger inflation and higher interest rates, which challenge growth. There are already nascent signs of this occurring.

Additional monetary tightening may be required to loosen the labor market and bring wage growth back down. On the upside, export growth is likely to improve this year, which will help cushion the anticipated slowdown of domestic demand.

Motorcycles Industry Trend and Perspectives

In such economic environment, the motorcycle industry is building on the significant growth observed in recent years, with the domestic market expanding from under 1 million units in 2018 to over 1.8 million in 2024, securing its position as the sixth largest in the world, while demand for new two-wheelers should remain robust even in the next years.

Although the already strong growth reported in the previous years, the start of 2025 was again amazing for the 2-wheeler market, which scored a first half 2025 double-digit increase with sales just over the 1 million.

During the third quarter the positive mood was still alive with sales up 14.0% and Year to Date September sales have been 1.54 million (+11.6%).

While the motorcycle segment is growing at a rapid pace, with sales up 12.5% year-on-year, the scooter segment accelerated even more and is up 10.1% this year, so far.

EV segment is still marginal, but the great news of the last 18 months is the rapid growth of local start ups with sales increased 79.8%, so far this year.
