BMW Motorrad Global Sales hit by North America and Europe industry decline. In the first half 2025 the company registered 104.088, down 8.2% from the corresponding period last year. Sales are declining even in the Pacific area and in India.

McD tracks new vehicles registrations across the World (over 90 countries), reporting data on calendar year. When you wish to compare data reported by us to those declared by the manufacturers, consider they usually report their “sales” (vehicles invoiced), which are usually different from “registrations”, accordingly with their fiscal year split.

BMW Global Sales Track

BMW Motorrad follows its own way and it is in a single direction: ahead.

Although in the world around there are viruses, wars, economic crisis, huge petrol fluctuation, skyrocketing interest rates. How we can affirm this? Just looking at sales reports.

Indeed, looking at BMW Motorrad global performance in the last decade, the impression is of a solid growth, dominating the upper customer class segment, with sales grew up from a little more than 100.000 in 2012 to the double actually, with an impressive series of records.

Global registrations exceeded the 150.000 in 2017 for the first time and continued to go up in the following years, although difficulties created by covid19 in 2020, when production sites have been halted for a while.

In 2022 the company reached for the first time the 200.000 sales milestone, but this was just a step.

Indeed, hitting the 14th all time record in a series, in 2023 global registrations reached 211.111.

In 2024 global registrations declined moderately, while remaining outstanding, with 204.050 (-3.3%) sales within the 92 countries we at McD follow.

Said all of this, the 2025 could remain in the company history as a dark year, considering that the two main regions for BMW, Europe and North America are experiencing a very bad year for the 2-wheeler industry, with sales declining in double-digit.

The effects on BMW are sharp and global sales in the first half 2025 are reported at 104.088, down 8.2%.

Sales declined 10.6% in Western Europe and 11.0% in North America and the two count 74% of global BMW sales.

Sales are declining in Pacific area by 12.2%, in Asia by 3.1% and in ASEAN by 0.6%.
