British Motorcycles Market is flat in 2024. After the first sixth months of the year, sales are at 61.771 units (-0.8%). Honda is still the leader while main challengers reduced the gap.
UK’s motorcycle industry trend and perspectives
Weak consumer demand, record inflation and skyrocketing interest rates hit in 2023 the British 2-wheeler industry, with total sales for the year being 113,496 (-2.5%).
The start of the 2024 was not better, with the market still struggling a bit. After the first sixth months of the year, sales are at 61.771 units (-0.8%).
Both motorcycle (-0.1%) and scooter (-2.7%) segment are losing.
The electric segments also were subject variable performance. The electric L1 category saw an decrease of 7.8%, while the electric L3 class saw a modest increase of 4.4%.
Looking at top manufacturer’s performance, Honda confirms the leadership, although with sales slightly declining (-2.8%). In second place, Triumph has reduced the gap from the leader, gaining 27.4%. In third place, Yamaha lost 3.8% while, in fourth, place BMW gained 0.9%.
Behind there ared Kawasaki (+21.1%), KTM (-14.0%), Royal Enfield (-+4.1%) and Lexmoto (+48.4%).
