Spanish Motorcycles Market is growing in double-digit. In the first nine months of year sales figures were 167.570 (+12.7%) one of the best performance in the last 20 years. Honda shines on top of the list.
Spanish Motorcycles Industry Trend and Perspectives
The Spanish continues to be the fifth largest “motorcycle” market in Europe (after Turkey, Italy, France and Germany) and following the almost positive performance scored last year, in 2023 is still reporting a very positive trend.
The market was growing already in double-digit ending the first half up 10.1%, but the speed accelerated in the summer with Q3 sales gaining 18.2% compared with the correspondent period last year.
In the first nine months of year sales figures were 167.570 (+12.7%) one of the best performance in the last 20 years.
The growth is driven by the motorcycles segment (+15.6%) particularly strong in the 751-1000cc class (+28.1%). However, even the scooter segment is positive (+10.2%) although electric demand is weak (-20.4%) against all expectations.
Looking at top manufacturer’s performance, Honda is still on top with first half sales up 25.5% thanks to the end of short supply and strong demand on PCX125, SH125 and Forza 125.
In second place Yamaha’s growth is more moderate (+22.9%) as for the third, Kymco (+21.6%), and the fourth, Piaggio (+9.0%).
Behind, BMW (+10.0%), SYM (+0.6%), Zontes (52.8%) and Kawasaki (+34.0%).
