BMW Motorrad Global Sales hit the New Record in 2021. Following a 10 years growing string, global registrations in 2021 have been 197.000, up 10.2% from the previous year. The outstanding 2021 performance is driven up by the growth in North America (+33%).

McD tracks new vehicles registrations across the World (over 80 countries), reporting data on calendar year. When you wish to compare data reported by us to those declared by the manufacturers, consider they usually report their “sales” (vehicles invoiced), which are usually different from “registrations”, accordingly with their fiscal year split.

BMW Global Sales Track

The 2022 will be a memorable year for the Motorrad Division in BMW, when global sales will hit for the first time the over 200k milestone.

This results will be achieved starting from the outstanding performance scored in the 2021 when a new all time record was established raising the bar up, very close to the 200.000, a target lost just in the Q4 due to slow demand in Europe.

However, following a 10 years growing string, global registrations in 2021 have been 197.000, up 10.2% from the previous year.

The global inventory fell down in the last 18 months and this explain why registrations have been higher than “sales” declared by the company, in particular during the 2020.

The outstanding 2021 performance is driven up by the growth in North America (+33%) with outstanding score both in USA and Canada.

Operations in China are fast growing (+21%) like in India, where the manufacturer overcome for the first time the 5.000 units and have reinforced the partnership with TVS Motor.

Sales In Europe increased 9.2%, although declining in Germany (-1.2%), with robust growth in the small countries (Latvia, Cyprus, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, Iceland) and consolidating the premium segment leadership in Italy (+18.5%), UK (+18.4%) and France (+12.5%).
