In this awful year for the Indian motorcycles market, the Bajaj Auto strong presence in the international market is partially balancing the heavy lost reported in the domestic market.
Baja in fact is leader in the African market and very strong in Latin America, all regions hit by the covid 19 effect less than India.
However, the block of production and shipments, stopped all activity towards the African continent, crucial for Bajaj.
As consequence, global Bajaj registrations in the first six months of the year fell down 41.4%, with India down 51.5%.
However in the third quarter the manufacturer started recovering with global sales increased 5.6%, driven by the +6.2% in India, while international operations were negative in Latin America and ASEAN.

In 2012 Bajaj Auto tied up with Japan’s Kawasaki in Indonesia, lately extended to the Philippines.
On 8 August 2017 Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycles UK announced global partnership whereby Bajaj will gain access to the iconic Triumph brand and its great motorcycles enabling it to offer a wider range of motorcycles within its domestic market and other international markets.
